Maintenance Tips:

Similar to when you light a candle, you should only leave your candle warmer on for a few hours at a time. After about 4 hours, turn the candle warmer off and allow your candle to fully cool before warming it again. Recommend not leaving your lamp on and unattended.

Once you start to notice the scent start to fade, you will need to dump off the top layer of wax. A candle warmer heats the wax to disperse the fragrance. This means you may need to dispose of each layer of melted wax once the fragrance has been exhausted – this is more likely with a lamp warmer than a plate warmer. We usually recommend doing this after ~15 hours of melt time.

Candle Burning Tips

We want to make sure that you are going to love your Nova Candle so below you will find some helpful tips to ensure you get the best burn possible!

Be sure to burn your candle long enough to allow the soy wax to melt all the way to the edge of the jar. Once it burns out fully to the diameter, you will want to continue to let it melt down about 1/4" deep. This is called a melt pool and is key because it's the point where all of the aroma is released, allowing you to fill the room with your favorite scent.
In between burning, we recommend trimming your wick down to ~1/4" in height. You may not always have to do this but if your wicks look like they are starting to curl over or have some soot build up (also referred to as mushrooming), it's best to cut the excess off so your candle burns evenly and at a good temperature.
-
Try to keep your candle away from excessive amounts of light. Since there are no added chemicals in our candles, soy wax tends to turn yellow if exposed to too much UV or florescent lighting. It doesn't affect the scent or quality of the candle at all but will affect the appearance.
